Charleston ENT & Allergy Now Open at Carnes Crossroads

Charleston ENT & Allergy has teamed up with Charleston area medical practices to bring advanced healthcare options to the burgeoning Berkeley County area north of the Charleston metro. Charleston ENT & Allergy, Charleston GI and Low Country Rheumatology, all physician-owned, independent practices, have collaborated on a new development named Windmill Station, part of the growing Carnes Crossroads community. Charleston ENT & Allergy's new office is now open at 2005 2nd Avenue, on the corner of 2nd Avenue and 17A in Summerville.

Windmill Station at Carnes Crossroads has been designed as a mixed-use campus, comprising retail, restaurant and professional space, and featuring approximately 85,000 square feet in four buildings. The design of the $23-million project complements the Carnes Crossroads development, with walking paths and a working windmill that gives the new facility its name. Other medical groups and providers continue to join Charleston ENT & Allergy.

"We are extremely excited about this project," said Ray Waldrup, CEO of Articularis Healthcare, parent company of Low Country Rheumatology. "It is an honor to be associated with Charleston GI and Charleston ENT & Allergy, two premier medical groups in Charleston. We are going to be able to offer a more advanced practice setting and high standard of care to our patients in and around Summerville, Moncks Corner and Goose Creek."

The center is expected to have a positive financial impact on the growing community. In addition to creating the first available retail space in Carnes Crossroads, each practice has moved employees from existing locations, and will continue to add employees to meet patient demand.

"We are absolutely thrilled to move our internal business operations to this location, creating our 'Command Center' in addition to our fourth GI clinic location," said Wanda Punteney, CEO of Charleston GI. "We saw the need for healthcare options in this growing community, and we look forward to other medical practices joining us in this unique expansion opportunity on such a beautiful campus. Our staff and patients can't wait!"

Craig Kilgore, CEO of Charleston ENT & Allergy, added, "We are proud to be providing high-paying and high-quality jobs for the community. It's the fastest-growing county in the region, and we simply had to respond to this need. What's great is how our independent groups work together, demonstrating a synergy that comes from the common goal of putting patients first."
