Charleston ENT & Allergy is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Tanner Lyons to our growing medical staff. Dr. Lyons enjoys all aspects of the ENT specialty and has a strong commitment to providing exceptional care.
Becoming an otolaryngologist was not on Dr. Lyons’ radar when he first began medical school, but as he learned more about the complexity of the anatomy, he became fascinated with the specialty.
“A lot of what ENTs treat involves the senses of everyday life, usually senses that people think about multiple times a day,” he said. “The ability to medically or surgically treat those processes to improve someone’s daily quality of life really drew me to the field.”
Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. Lyons started his path to becoming an ENT with a degree in biology from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. He then earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Ohio University and completed his residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Lyons is looking forward to working with the amazing staff and patients of Charleston ENT & Allergy. His favorite aspect of being an ENT is connecting with patients, learning about their lives, and using his expertise to improve their well-being.
When not seeing patients in the clinic, Dr. Lyons enjoys the outdoors and is excited to explore Charleston on foot and by boat with his wife, young son, and their four dogs. He is also often found checking out the latest restaurant, working on his golf game, or cheering on the Cincinnati Bengals.
