Dr. Alex Hamberis has joined South Carolina’s largest practice treating ear, nose, throat, allergy and other issues of the head and neck. Her dedication to compassionate care aligns perfectly with the mission of Charleston ENT & Allergy to provide exceptional, high-quality care for everyone.
Dr. Hamberis chose to pursue a career in ENT due to her interest in the physiology of speech, hearing and expression—fundamental aspects of human identity. She values the opportunity to care for patients of all ages and to build relationships through longitudinal care.
Originally from Greenville, South Carolina, Dr. Hamberis began her studies to become a physician as a double major in Biology and Spanish at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then came to Charleston to complete her medical degree at MUSC, before finishing her internship and residency in otolaryngology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York.
As the daughter of a family physician, Dr. Hamberis recognizes the importance of holistic care and hopes that her patients feel that she is accessible, communicative and an advocate for their healthcare.
When not busy seeing patients, Dr. Hamberis cherishes time with her family and appreciates the outdoors, especially taking a good run. She also loves traveling, cooking and experiencing Charleston’s live music scene.
At Charleston ENT & Allergy, Dr. Hamberis will work alongside our team of Advanced Practice Providers and Audiologists for the utmost convenience and to comprehensively address patients’ ear, nose and throat issues. She sees patients primarily in the West Ashley clinic and the Johnnie Dodds location in Mt. Pleasant. To make an appointment with Dr. Hamberis, text or call (843) 766-7103.
